Beginner Lesson

This is perfect for those that want to learn how to paddleboard and progress onto doing other activities. Paddleboarding is extremely easy to pick up and the harbour is an amazingly safe place to learn, you will be up paddling in no time at all!

  • You must be able to swim up to 25m confidently

Duration: 2 hours

You will learn:

  • Equipment brief and set up
  • Safety inc weather, sea, self rescue and local specific safety points
  • Stance and Balance
  • Basic paddling strokes starting on knees moving to standing
  • Board control and steering

Adults 18yrs +


Juniors 14yrs +


(Under 18yrs must either have a Parent or Guardian present on the water or viewing from the shore within earshot throughout)

If completed successfully you will now have all the skills to move onto more activities as listed below. I always recomend not leaving it no longer than a week before you get out again and practice what you have learnt and progress. I will always advise at the end of your lesson what you should move onto next.

Standard progression would be below in the following order.

Kit Rental – to get some practice in and i will advise where you can paddle to be safe etc.

SUP Social – Regular weekly Adult and Family sessions -Adult sessions consist of social paddles with informal coaching along the way. Where we paddle and what we get up to will be dictated by the conditions on the day. Family Sessions as above but with emphasise more on fun and games.

Sunrise or Sunset Session – Best way to start and end the day for sure. Chilled paddle to clear your head.

Castle, Caves and Coves Tour

Taster lesson (10yrs +)

This is a lesson all the family can enjoy and for those that want to just have a quick go to see if they like it or not.
(Under 18yrs must either have a Parent or Guardian present on the water or viewing from the shore within earshot throughout)

Duration: 1 hour

Adults 18yrs +



Juniors 10 yrs +

private SUP session

Looking for a more personal experience specific to your needs then a private SUP session would be the best option for you. You can choose from any of the activities listed or have something more bespoke if you want.

1 to 1

£50 per son per hour
£20 per person for every additional hour

Things to bring with you

  • Swimming costume to wear below your wetsuit – come with it on below your clothes as there are no changing rooms.
  • Water proof sun cream – would you believe even on a cloudy day you can get burnt from glare of water
  • Towel and Changing Robe
  • Drink [nothing fizzy] and a snack
  • Warm clothing to get changed into after the lesson

Terms & Conditions

Please note that all of our activities carry a degree of risk and require participants to have a reasonable standard of swimming and fitness.

All participants must make me aware of any medical or fitness issues they may have prior to booking.

If conditions are unsuitable on the day of your lesson, I will be in touch via phone to reschedule or offer a refund. Please ensure that I will be able to contact you on the number and e mail you provide when booking. I will try to give as much advance warning as possible if it looks likely that lessons will be cancelled however conditions can change overnight, if you have a long journey to get to us please call/e mail before setting off for an update on conditions.


Activities will begin at the time stated if you, the participant are more than 10 minutes late it may result in you missing the session completely. If you are late and it is still possible for you to take part in the lesson then it will be for the remaining scheduled time only. You will not receive a refund in these circumstances.

In order to make a booking, all participants and parents/guardians of participants under the age of 18 years must confirm that they have read and understand this information along with the cancellation policy. You can do this when you complete the booking enquiry form.



Yes water is cold, however wetsuits and boots provided are full winter spec 5mm and will keep you toasty warm thoughout your activity.
No its really easy, boards are super stable and wide to balance on, so you should have no problems staying on board.
